JUNE 2019

Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 (CIM4.0)

On 27th of June it will take place the first meeting between partners

The aim of the project

The main aim of the Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 (CIM4.0) competence center is to become a strategic and operational support for manufacturing companies oriented to the digitalization of industrial processes from the perspective of Industry 4.0 (from design to production, from R&D to the supply chain, from security to the Blockchain).
The vertical competences, the technological opportunities, the international industrial vision represent the keywords of entrepreneurial culture from which CIM4.0 intends to set out to promote pilot lines for manufacturing and experimentation centers consistent with the needs expressed by the industrial supply chains.

Strategic goals

The Competence Industry Manufacturing 4.0 started its activities few months ago, acquiring its own governance structure, which will be completed in July 2019 to guarantee the launch of the pilot lines aligned with the concrete needs of the companies of the Automotive, Aerospace, Service Providers, Software Technology Providers, Hardware Technology Providers and End Users sectors.

Technological fields

Particular attention will be given to CIM4.0 activities to support and support PMI and Start-ups that want to develop new production processes in the Industry 4.0 area. The stage of the Italian Tech Week was chosen as the first moment of dialogue and listening to all the actors that will transit on the bridge of innovation, recognizing in CIM4.0 the privileged stakeholder who dialogues and connects the business world and Universities one, for the understanding and dissemination of the new technological paradigms of industry 4.0.
CIM4.0 will focus its technological attention on:
1. Additive Manufacturing (from concept design to product certification).
2. Technologies for Digital Factory: Add Materials; Applications of World Class Manufacturing; Big Data Analytics; Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Prognostic Technologies; Augmented Reality & Digital Twin; Smart Grid and Energy Efficiency; Connectivity & Communication.

Operational Plan

Once the decree was signed by the MISE, the CIM4.0 project is in full execution. The site within the structures of the Polytechnic of Turin (Corso Settembrini 178) was identified.
The team will settle in the new headquarters at the beginning of September 2019 while the first two pilot lines will be completed during this year: Additive Manufacturing Lines and Digital Factory Lines. The subsequent pilot lines will be launched in the laboratories that will be created in the adjacent TNE area.
In September 2019, CIM4.0 will publish the first calls for training and research projects, in line with the defined priorities. All companies (Large, Small and Medium, Start-ups) that operate effectively throughout the national territory can participate in these calls.
A corporate and institutional communication strategy has been defined for CIM4.0 in order to build an identity and a correct positioning of the organization towards companies and institutions.
